HONG KONG, Oct 25, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The Asia Health Innovation Summit 2024, hosted by global venture accelerator Brinc as part of StartmeupHK Festival 2024 and curated by InvestHK, attracted a packed attendance of more than 500 participants at AWS in Tower 535, Causeway an Bay as well yesterday a global livestream audience of over 800.
The fourth annual Asia Health Innovation Summit cemented the event’s position as a premier gathering for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and healthcare innovation professionals in the region. Aimed at driving bolder ideas and cross-industry collaboration, the event featured a full day of on-stage panel discussions with 35 speakers Hong Kong and abroad, networking sessions for all participants for direct exchange, private roundtable sessions and founder stands on the Startup Marketplace.

In his keynote speech professor Dong SunJP, Minister for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said the city is on the path to becoming an international innovation and technology center as well as a health and medical innovation center – also known as one of the world’s leading fundraisers -Provider for biotechnology companies.
Invest HK’s Head of Innovation & Technology gave his opening speech Andy Wong emphasized Hong Kong thriving ecosystem of startups, research institutes and talent. He also pointed to the rise of AI as a game-changer in health technology, accelerating advances in drug development, surgical procedures and gene editing. Health services and more.
The transformative potential of AI for health innovation and healthcare was a key theme on the summit agenda. It was also a central theme that ran through lively speaker discussions throughout the day – including trending topics like “harness.” Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area startup ecosystem for global expansion, the importance of FemTech in transforming women’s health, and the role of smart aging technology in the longevity industry.
Founders of companies – such as AILSI, Blissmi, Greater Bay Biotech Ltd, Ironmind.ai, OM HealthHub, Sol, Well Being Digital (WBD101) and Zupe – highlighted the enormous opportunities it presents Hong Kong Startup ecosystem to build a healthier one Asia. They also reiterated the city’s solid research and development base, the advantages of its strategic location within the Greater Bay Area, a supportive regulatory environment and the rapid progress in local academic and research areas.
Many speakers emphasized that given the current market conditions, numerous investment opportunities remain, particularly for start-ups pursuing new, innovative approaches. Accelerator programs, government grants and strategic collaborations were highlighted as critical opportunities to attract funding and drive expansion success in the industry.
The event of the 4th Asia Health Innovation Summit concluded with closing remarks by Jayne ChanHead of Startups, InvestHK.
